PLEASE NOTE: Trips are chosen based on the tide and current that day. All trips include about 30 minutes of prep (fitting in PFD's, kayaks and instruction) with a stop for a break and a snack mid-way in trip. That means a 3 hour trip has about 2 hours of kayaking.

Here are a few examples of our HALF DAY TRIPS

Marsh Paddle - The spartina salt marsh is the most productive ecosysten on the planet. 80% of the fin and shellfish we eat spend at least part of their lives here. It's also a great place to work on your kayak basics. Fee $55/pp

Bar Hopping - Low tide is the best time for birding. We'll paddle out to a sand bar for our break and watch the egrets, herons, osprey and others critters along the way. Fee $55/pp

Kingsley Plantation - As we navigate the Fort George River we'll get the same view that river traders got as they sailed to the Plantation to fill their holds with sea island cotton, indigo, sugar cane and corn. On our break you can relax on the lawn or walk around the grounds and learn the history of the Kingsley family. Fee $55/personvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv

Special Kayak Trips

Moonlight Paddle - There is a special serenity to this time of day. As egrets and herons head back to their roost, we'll watch the sun throw it's final splash of color across the western sky. The moon will light our path through the marsh. Look carefully into the dark water as sparkling bioluminesence bounces off each paddle stroke. Fee $55/person

Attention

Kayak Amelia will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and every Wednesday in December, January and February

Yoga Paddle - 9-12 Sunday April 17

Yoga and kayaking compliment each other perfectly. The staff of Y-yoga joins us for a quiet marsh paddle. We'll stop on a sandbar for a short yoga session. A healthy lunch will be waiting at the end of the trip. $60/person Call Y-yoga for reservations 904-415-9642
