Yesterday a woman came into the shop with her two kids, 10 & 14yr old. She asked how long I had worked at Kayak Amelia. “It’s 25 years this year”, I answered. It turns out she frequently rented a kayak from us and paddled alone about 15 years ago. This was her escape to tranquility and relaxation, her special place. Then kids, soccer practice and school happened and she hasn’t kayaked since. She wanted her kids to experience “her special place” but was so nervous they may not like it. A couple hours later they all returned with smiling faces. They loved it! and plan to be back soon. It’s a special honor to be able to offer this kind of family bonding adventure. I love my job!
